Okabe Rintaro Cosplay (need new pic)

Well I decided to do not just one cosplay ([link]) for Anime Boston (thats next month) but two.

Okabe Rintaro (AKA: Okarin, Future Gadget Lab-founder, Member 001, and Mad Scientist: HOUOUIN KYOUMA!!) from the anime and visual novel: "Steins;Gate". I may have only recently discovered Steins;Gate, however I am already an avid fan.

There's a few reasons why I wanted to cosplay Okabe: For one; when I went to AAC (Another Anime Convention) in NH, I went as Gin. However there was pretty much no one (besides ONE person I ran into) that recognized me as Gin. I know S;G is gaining is popularity of late, so I know Okabe will be recognized. Secondly; I think it would have been kind of boring just going as Gin all 3 days, and obviously Okabe is really simple in design ([link]) so quickly getting things for him would be both cheap and easy. Thirdly; Also theres one thing about the Gin costume that is annoying is due to how hot my head can get from the wig cap, the wig, and hat (in that order).
And fourthly is that out of ALL the characters from just about ANYTHING I have seen/read/whatever Okabe is one character I feel I can truly relate to. Not in the ways of what he went through compared to me (cause I certainly never made a time-machine and went through mind-breaking trauma watching my friends die repeatedly), but on a personality level. I kinda realized that much like Okabe I am very much of a comedian, and love to be so (namely with the "I am secretly plotting to rule the world" thing) however, beyond that comedian side I am very serious person, and even despite my joking around I would do the same things he did if I was in his place in order to protect my friends and family. So with this in mind I think I can enjoy cosplaying Okabe far more than any other anime character.

Now for the picture taken; it was by my friend Ralph, but I didnt realize how crappy he took the picture since its kinda fuzzy. He did take it with my phone, but as I have shown with photos I've submitted before I can much better quality out of the darn thing. I'd rather if I had Senku take the pic since he got a pretty good quality shot with the Gin picture of me. ([link])
Also I didnt have the time to properly arrange my hair for this picture, hell my hair is actually way too long compared to Okabe (plus mine is brown and his is black) (Also I had shaved the previous day, which doesnt help towards my accuracy).
In speaking of hair, I was going to just get my hair cut next month in time for AB, but I think I'll just go and buy another wig for this one. I can arrange it to be the correct length and color, so I can just save my money in the long run for future Anime Cons and I'll get to keep my regular long-hair since I prefer it this way. Kinda a "no lose situation"

I'll probably hold off til I can get my hands on another wig before I have someone take another picture of me as Okabe. If I dont, I should have it complete by Anime Boston next month.
